April 1, 2008: Tolya L. Thompson presents “A Prescription to Read Helps a Nation Breathe” at the National Center for Family Literacy Annual Conference in Louisville, KY

May 6, 2008: Tolya L. Thompson presents a Prescription to Read Helps a Nation Breathe” at the International Reading Association’s Annual Conference in Atlanta, GA.

June 30, 2008: Tolya L. Thompson presents “A Picture Book a Day Keeps the Doctor Away!” for the Union Free School District and the Roosevelt School District hosted Hofstra University in Long Island, NY.

July 17, 2008: Tolya L. Thompson parties with Nailor Elementary School in Cleveland Mississippi.

October 24, 2008: Tolya L. Thompson will partner with North Forest Independent School District to throw a pajama health literacy party. Educating the community on influenza and the importance of vaccination will be the highlight of the event. 200 families will receive a FREE copy of Catchin’ Cooties Consuelo. Tolya will encourage parents to read to their children everyday to increase literacy and decrease poor health.

October 30 –31, 2008: Tolya L. Thompson will hold autographing sessions at the Association of Christian Schools International Northern California Educators Convention in Sacramento, CA.

November 8, 2008: Tolya L. Thompson will partner with the San Joaquin, Department of Education to throw a dynamicic health literacy party featuring influenza. . Educating the community on influenza and the importance of vaccination will be the highlight of the event. 200 families will receive a FREE copy of Catchin’ Cooties Consuelo. Tolya will encourage parents to read to their children everyday to increase literacy and decrease poor health.

November 18- 23, 2008: Tolya L. Thompson will hold autographing sessions at the National Alliance of Black School Educators Annual Conference in Atlanta, GA.

“Savor Publishing House, Inc. gives tremendous thanks to Sanofi Pasteur for their generous Health Literacy sponsorship. Beginning in November, Sanofi Pasteur and Savor Publishing will work with community hospitals to educate families on the common cold and influenza. Pajama Health Literacy Events featuring Catchin’ Cooties Consuelo will be held in Colorado, Texas, and California. Hundreds of children and their families within school districts surrounding host hospitals will receive FREE copies of Consuelo. This fall season is going to be a blast.
